It’s the kind of day that makes all the other less than perfect days just melt away. I have waited for you.
I’ve been waiting, patiently, for the summer to finally show up. It was a long hard winter this year. Yes, I know I live in Canada, but this year it started early and held on longer then necessary.
Today makes up for it. It’s the perfect summer day. Not too hot, sunny with big fluffy white clouds slowly making their way across the sky. There’s a slight breeze, just enough to cool you off at the right time, before you start complaining about how hot it is.
As a Canadian I complain about the long hard winters and how cold they are, how much I can’t wait for summer to arrive. Then it does and we complain about the heat. Go figure.
Today is a good day. It’s my perfect kind of summer day. It’s just right and it helps that it’s also my day off from the job that pays the bills.
It rained all weekend, pretty much, gloomy and grey. blurgh.
But today makes up for it. It’s the kind of day that makes me forget all the things that aren’t right, like the splitting headache that won’t go away or all the other aches and pains.
Screw you chronic, today is a good day. The sun feels warm on my face, the sounds of the birds tickle my ears, the hustle of the city hums in the background. The clouds slowly dance across the blue sky and I’m captivated by how a perfect day like this makes everything just seem, right.
Except for the spider slowly crawling up my leg!
Yes, I know they have a purpose in nature, but it’s not on my leg!
Shooooo! Nothing with that many eyes needs to be on my body, ever. never. yuck. You get the point.
Hello loud crow, I can hear you. You betcha it’s a great day!
Everything is green, alive and summer perfect. And I love it.
It makes me smile for utterly no reason. I’m sitting out on my balcony, enjoying the world and it feels good. It’s the right kind of day and at exactly the right time.
I have waited for you.
